Description: The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) at the U.S. Department of Commerce is the only federal agency dedicated to advancing the establishment and growth of minority-owned firms in the United States. Through a network of minority business centers and strategic partners, MBDA works with minority entrepreneurs who wish to grow their businesses in size, scale and capacity. MBDA has spent more than four decades increasing the competitiveness of minority firms.

 

Completed projects included:

 

⦁ Worked on the remodeling of the MBDA web portal by porting the whole website and its applications into Drupal.

⦁ Coordinated with the team to gather requirements

⦁ Configured and worked on Dreamweaver CS5 to develop the new portal using Drupal.

⦁ Used Photoshop CS5 to gather/generate required images for the new portal.

⦁ Developed and tested Drupal modules for various features in the portal as per requirement.

⦁ Used AJAX to develop an interactive map with regional offices in it and created a Drupal module for it.

⦁ Made use of GD library and JPGraph API to generate dynamic graph based of data retrieved from Oracle database.

⦁ Used Weatherbug API to retrieve and display local weather conditions in the portal.

⦁ Used Twitter REST API and Facebook Graph API to retrieve status updates into the Drupal portal.

⦁ Built a linux VM from scratch and setup an instance of the portal and Coldfusion applications.

⦁ Managed the VM Guest servers by setting up VMWare vCenter vSphere client and server.

⦁ Installed clients for various management tools like vCenter Manager, MonitorIT, Oracle Health Monitor, Languard and more for efficient management of resources.

⦁ Worked on setting up and managing content in the SVN repository using Tortoise SVN and Collab.net SVN.

⦁ Managed the Oracle Database (DBA)

⦁ Setup the COOP environment at remote location to replicate production database and webserver for high availability of services provided by the agency.

⦁ Created shell scripts and setup cron jobs to backup production databases into COOP server environment.

⦁ Setup the SSL certificate on windows IIS webserver for the custom Siebel CRM server.

⦁ Prepared our public facing servers to be IPv6 compliant.

⦁ Setup LDAP on Linux Server to work in parallel with Windows exchange server.

⦁ Built custom financial reporting tool with PHP, MySQL and Oracle using PDF creator for PDF file generation.

⦁ Setup network file share from Linux to Windows using Samba server.

⦁ Worked in both LAMP and WAMP environment for development and maintenance of the portal.

⦁ Developed modules using Oracle 11g and Coldfusion (Fusebox framework) to add features to legacy applications.

⦁ Managed all the linux and windows servers as the administrator.

⦁ Built and deployed Win7 images for dell laptops using Acronis and setup Safeboot using McAfee Endpoint Encryption to secure the government data.

⦁ Troubleshot various networking issues.

⦁ Managed the financial aspects of the project and acted as the team lead.
